This painting was a study done while working on a commission on the official national poster commemorating the 50th anniversary of the wilderness act. Click on this link to view the final poster. Other wilderness act studies include Stewards of the Wilderness, Spirit of the Wilderness, A Peaceful Kingdom of Wilderness color study, and A Peaceful Kingdom of Wilderness graphite study. This "Buffalo Flag" study was the inspiration for a 2016 acrylic painting which was reproduced as a limited edition archival digital print to celebrate the official designation of the Bison as America's National Animal.
