Peaceful Valley Diptych (Autumn) is an acrylic on canvas painting that is part of a private collection.
According to Dolack "These two paintings are views looking south across the Missoula Valley from Elk Ridge which sits on the flanks of Mount Jumbo.
The painting on the spring canvas portrays a glowing day in early May and the autumn canvas recreates a fair day in October with its changing light and colors.
For many years a peace sign was painted time and again on a large flat communications pane on Waterworks Hill north of Missoula. It was eventually taken down and disassembled into 9 pieces. After many years it has been reassembled and resides behind the community peace resource center.
The Peaceful Valley Diptych is my way of keeping a peace sign on the mountain."
