This limited edition print is reproduced from an acrylic painting on panel.

The painting was created in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Montana's Scapegoat Wilderness.

Hush of the land refers to a phrase popularized in public testimony given to Congress in 1968; at that time the legendary Tom"Hobnail" Edwards testified before the Congressional Subcommittee on Public Lands; he and other local citizens had organized to try to designate the Lincoln Back Country and parts of the Lewis and Clark and Lolo National Forests as wilderness.

Edwards spoke to the importance of preserving the hush of the land-the hush is what keeps people coming back to wilderness again and again; and actually we believe it's still quiet there today.
