Ghost Ship is a 10 x 9 acrylic on panel painting created by Monte Dolack in 2025. According to Dolack "my wife and I were walking along Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina near the time of sunset. She brought my attention to a changing shape in the clouds on the horizon. For a fleeting instant we both observed an ethereal three masted ship in the cloud formation which disappeared moments later. This area of the Atlantic Ocean is known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic-rich with the bones of 500 years of lost ships-including some pirate ships. When I got back into the studio I made a little sketch of the ship from memory which later manifested as the Ghost Ship painting with my wife as witness to this magical moment."
