"We celebrated Mary Beth’s birthday, as we have for many years, at Waterton International Peace Park just across the Montana border.  We set up our easels in the afternoon at the south end of the Lake,  witness to the breathtaking views looking south   into the US and the area known as Goat Haunt. A lovely day capped by a window seat for dinner at the Prince of Wales Hotel restaurant.


 I was able to block in the basic forms before the light changed and faded. Later in my Missoula studio I finished it working from memory and a few photos I had shot during the painting process."
