Beautifully reproduced from an acrylic painting portraying rare whooping cranes engaged in a mating dance. This image was inspired by Monte's travels in Asia after seeing the white-napped cranes in the rice fields. He has taken this vision and idealized it, painting the cranes dancing against a bright orange sky and superimposed over the continents (signifying the crane's migration). Dancing Cranes was used on the cover of the Montana Mandolin Society's C.D. Dance of the Sandhill.
