This limited edition print Artist Proof depicts the famous Borzoi breed of dogs, brought to Russia from Byzantium in the 9th century. Monte evoked the bright colors of Russian lacquer ware. The famous Russian Onion Domes in the background are a suggestion of the breed's heritage. The Borzoi was especially commissioned by Barbara and Dan Bouray of the High Plasces Ranch near Three Forks, Montana. It was printed by Artcraft Printers in Bozeman, Montana on 100% rag Buckeye paper.
