Artist statement on The Ring of Brodgar painting:

"In September of 2018 Mary and I walked among the enigmatic stones and heather of one of the most spectacular prehistoric monuments in the British Isles. The Ring of Brodgar Stone Circle is located on the Orkney Islands of Scotland and is an enormous ceremonial site dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. Later that day I started this watercolour painting from a field sketch and photos I had taken at the site and completed the painting on our return to Montana."

The Ring of Brodgar was completed in 2018 and the artist used watercolour on Arches 100% Rag 300 lb handmade paper.  The painting was recently framed with a linen mat and liner and a silver leafed frame.
