This poster was commissioned by the Nature Conservancy to represent the dinosaur excavation and research that has been accomplished in Montana. This piece shows a realistic representation of the landscape, flora and fauna this area of Montana would have had at the time these creatures lived.

The colors and patterns of the dinosaurs was reimagined by Monte and led to further research into what the appearance of these extinct animals would have been. The animals portrayed are the trodon, hypacrosarus, tyrannosaurus, maiasaura and nestlings, stycacosaurus and young, corythosaurus, quetzalocatlus and the varanid lizard. This image is also available as a note card.

"Having worked with Monte, I was impressed with both his attention to detail, and his sense of art."

Jack Horner, Paleontologist
